Would you like to have breakfast at Tiffany´s?

Today is your opportunity to accept my invitation and join the 50th birthday of a classic, Breakfast at Tiffany´s, (Desayuno con Diamantes), the Spanish translation.
A 1961 romantic comedy film starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, and featuring Patricia Neal, Buddy Ebsen, Martin Balsam, and Mickey Rooney. The film was directed by Blake Edwards and released by Paramount Pictures.
It was loosely based on the novel of the same name by Truman Capote.

The soundtrack composed and conducted by Henry Marcini, with songs by Marcini and Johnny Mercer won 1961 Oscar for Best Original Song for "Moon River".
In addition, the film had three nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Art Direction and Best Adapted Screeplay.

The film is set in an idealized New York City during the early 60´s. Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) is a charming socialite with a youthful zest for life who lives alone in a nearly bare apartment. She has such a lifestyle that she won´t even give her cat a name, because that would be too much of a commitment to a relationship.
Maintaining a childlike innocence yet wearing the most perfect of designer clothes and accessories from Givenchy, she spends her time on dates and at high-class parties. She escorts various wealthy men, yet fails to return their affections after they have given her gifts and money.
Holly´s carefree independence is changed when she meets her neighbour, aspiring writer Paul (George Peppard), who is suffering from writer´s block while being kept by a wealthy woman (Patricia Neal). Just when Holly and Paul are developing their sweet romance, Doc (Buddy Ebsen) appears on the scene and complicates matters, revealing the truth about Holly´s past.
